When I was in school we used to recite our national anthem daily in school assembly. At that time I didn’t comprehend literal meanings of those lines but even then when we reach the phrase “Pak sarzameen ka nizam.” I always felt that this phrase has something very crucial to convey. I have always been curious to know the message which Hafeez Jalandhari (writer of national anthem) wanted to pass through these lines.
Each line, in fact, points towards prosperity and development. Unfortunately we have gone far away from understanding and implementing real message and meaning of these lines. They were not simply some lines but very deep message.
We in Pakistan lost many leaders many chances to uplift our country from grim state of affairs. Indeed everything was ruined when we as a nation undermined power of democracy and attributed nonsensical viewpoints with it. No state is bad indeed, these are people who make it either good or bad.
Our journey to decay started from the time when we failed to treat our founding father. Quaid’s ambulance was delayed and he was not provided medical assistance on time.
No was held responsible for that recklessness. After this our first Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinate. No one knows who killed him and what caused him act this way. We live in a country where Fatima Jinnah (sister of founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah) lost elections and was declared traitor. She was disrespected in opponents’ rallies.
In 1971, we lost one of our part (East Pakistan). Here again everyone was clueless as to why it all happened and who were real culprits. We afterwards hanged country’s most popular leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
It was in Pakistan that four democratically elected governments (two of Benazir Bhutto and other two of Nawaz Sharif) were sent home without any reason in nineties.
In 1999, as an adventure we conquered our own country and suspended difficulty-formed constitution. Then we got ruled by our so called saviors for almost eight years. During this era, Nawab Akbar Bugti of Baluchistan was targeted. During this period, we generated a bubble economy originated from loans and grants from USA.
Law and order situation was so worse that our defenders stopped wearing uniforms while travelling. Then twice elected premier of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. And wonders who had killed him? PPP despite its rule and spending millions remained clueless about the killer. On same patterns, Maulana Sami ul Haq was killed and likewise everything remained a misery.
After all, we live in a country where lawyers pursuing missing persons are missed. We in Pakistan lost many leaders many chances to uplift our country from grim state of affairs. Indeed everything was ruined when we as a nation undermined power of democracy and attributed nonsensical viewpoints with it. No state is bad indeed, these are people who make it either good or bad.
Everything in our country remained mystery and future does not seem different. One can just hope our historical mysteries will be solved and we would know who did what and when. As this is only way to being a progressive nation.
