Pakistan undoubtedly has immense untapped potential which is yet to be explored. For full utilization of our natural and unnatural resources and that too in today’s digital market, we direly need government’s attention. Further there are many a persons who are gaining the most of their entrepreneurial skills solely, on various digital media platforms.

Marking one’s name in such a competitive time is of course not plain sailing. Waseem Shahzad is among the persons who own digital marketing skills and are getting the most of them. He was born in Kotli District, in Azad Kashmir. Being passionate about digital world, he worked hard from very tender age. He is one of those personalities on social media platforms who are loved widely. One can find many such persons who are adored by a large audience, they include pranksters too.

Everyone from social marketer to journalist is working hard to maintain his presence in digital age. Stakeholders’ anxiety is valid especially considering the circulating rumors related to regularizing and imposing taxes on YouTube channels in Pakistan.

Waseem for instance during his time in Dubai devoted his time to analyze social media trends and the evolving digital market. He even started making videos related to technology to be uploaded on YouTube. He gained 80k subscribers in less than 7 months. But ultimately his accounts terminated due to various policy changes by YouTube. He even launched his page named as Dxb media on Instagram, but that was not for the purpose of earning any profit but to provide people with a plethora of relatable content.

The page was based on reality-based factor to gain an audience. Facts around trending topics were covered in the page and this was well received by people around the world mainly because of its relatable theme. Waseem just like many other Pakistanis even after failing in several attempts never gave up and stayed on the path of making vision a reality. Starting a media company  is also not a plain sailing thing but he did so to campaign for various foreign companies.

According to him, “The digital marketing has provided me with the opportunity to make my dreams come true, and my vision a reality!.” Youth like Waseem Shahzad are inspiration for many who think that education is the only way to make dreams come true. With the current digital age, patterns of achieving success have altogether changed.

What really bothers digital personality are the alterations by content – pictures, videos and content –  publishing sites. Whenever any change is introduced, digital media stakeholders feel risk of being eliminated just like a journalist is afraid of his voice being muzzled.

Amid the certainty, government needs clear policy for youngsters on digital media platforms.
