Pakistan is facing major issue of unemployment ratio and the capable youth of Pakistan is mourning the merit because the testing services and authorities fail to maintain meritorious recruitment process. Where Pakistan is facing major economic, political and social issues altogether, a major issue regarding recruitment remains unfocused. Recently, a test for the post of Assistant Director BPS- 17 for Ministry of Defence was conducted in mid-November through National Testing System proves the game-play with unemployed youth.
The pattern of test has created serious state of dubiety because the general criteria for tests include the questions from the categories of English, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, Mathematics and IQ. Yet this test included questions from even specific fields like Programming and sociology as well.
“Testing process of so-called private recruiting agencies is quite dubious. Keeping in view the processes of these organizations one can easily say that they are money-making services, more interested in generating revenue than ensuring merit in their processes.”
The mixture question from specific fields up heave the question that a person should be proficient at Programming, Economics, IQ Sociology, General Science and General Knowledge altogether which upheavals a question that Either a candidate should have mastery over all the specific fields or Ministry of Defence is not clear about the Job Description and Responsibilities one is supposed to pursue. Well keeping this selection process issue at validity and reliability criteria of the MOD. Another event at the same test has made candidates to mourn for merit is that they were not given candidate’s copy or carbon copy through which they could check their answer keys and claim for their rights.
Not just for this case but this has become a common practice in recruitment process for most of the government departments and organization which h as given rise to a faith that candidates are selected on favoritism, political intervention and bribes. Most of the candidates have lost interest for preparing for job tests as they see References and Corruption has got more power an killing merit, the remaining are just filling up forms, paying fee s and wasting their time by appearing in bogus tests and interview. Is the re any law which regulates, monitors and assures merit?
I wonder, how we would end corruption. When it is being injected in blood of youth and future generation? Testing process of so-called private recruiting agencies is quite dubious. Keeping in view the processes of these organizations one can easily say that they are money-making services, more interested in generating revenue than ensuring merit in their processes.
Here I request Prime Minister Imran Khan and concerned authorities to look into this matter where the ship sailing Pakistan’s future is being damaged day by day.
