Precious Memories of Precious People

“Legends are not born, they are created”

The year 2018 was a great year but we also went through many ups and downs during that period. We lost many of our stars and today we stand proudly to call them OUR LEGENDS.

Days had just passed by the New Year 2018 and we had a mourning news to hear that we had lost Zubaida Tariq, a renowned Pakistani Chef. She was not only famous for her cooking but also giving tips on different health & general issues. She went through a sudden cardiac arrest on 4th January which led to her demise. A month later in February, a layer of grief passed by our county when two souls of our icons had departed from this world. Qazi Wajid, a famous TV actor and Asma Jahangir a lawyer, social activist humanitarian and a feminist. They both were a victim of cardiac arrest and had passed away on February 11th.

“Compromise for your dream, not on your dream”. This quote relates to a megastar “Mansoor Ahmed” Mansoor was a field hockey player and had achieved innumerable medals. He left us in deep grief on 12th of May due to prolonged illness.

Elections were just around the corner and everyone was busy in the election campaign. Just then we were informed about “Siraj Raisani” and “Haroon Bilour’s” great tragic demise in a terrible bomb blast.

“When people throw stones at you, convert them into milestones”.

This is the rule that our former First Lady, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had implied in her life. She stayed the PMLN party leader for a few years. She had been suffering cancer for a year before she passed away on September 11th, 2018.

“The scars you can’t see are the hardest to heal”. Chef Tahir Chaudry, who hid all of his fears and illness and always had a smile on his face, we had never thought that he would not be with us. October 6th, he attended a TV Show in the morning and right after two hours of that show, he left us shocked with the news that he is no more alive. As if these many loss of lives weren’t enough for us, the next two months didn’t seem to be too good either. On 2nd November a religious scholar and a political party leader had been assassinated. He was stabbed many times that too in his OWN house.

The year was rounding up and everyone was preparing for the New Year celebrations. Just then we had an inconsolable news that Ali Raza Abidi was also assassinated. But at the end of the day, the life of a dead is placed in the memory of the living. We all pray and wish that 2019 turns up to be a GOOD year for us and I hope we all achieve our targets.

May All Their Souls Rest In Peace.
