7 songs that reach into your soul

Every prophet to every step on earth has emphasized lyrics, rhythm and truth in God’s word revealed to them. These people knew nothing touches the soul of man like truth packaged in balanced poetry, rhyming words and choruses.

My songs’ list is about hope, empathy, unselfishness, originality, positivity, and feelings.

Listen to these songs when you need to be connected with your soul.

‘What a wonderful world’ Louis Armstrong

It is an uplifting, positive and intensely heartfelt song that really works your soul. It was written during the times of racial hate and the end product talks of nothing but hope.

‘What’s up’ 4 non blonds.

‘The world was made of brotherhood of man…whatever that means’, so deep and yet so positive, ‘I scream what’s going on…’

‘Hallelujah’ by Jeff Buckley.

you can’t fake the anguish in his voice, “Maybe there’s a God above, but all I’ve ever learned from love is how to shoot somebody who outdrew you”. It’s about a relationship gone stale and the biblical references are so delicate and correctly placed. Absolute genius; no wonder it has been done over several times by different artists.

 ‘My immortal’ ‘Evanescent’

Wow just wow. ‘You’d scream and I’d fight away all of your fears…’ with Amy Lee’s high pitch vocals, is a masterpiece. Someone keeps cutting onions while I am listening to this.

‘Everybody Hurts’ by R.E.M.

It is about the difficulties of modern day living. It was written specifically to talk to suicidal people. It is a feel-good song but sung in a low tone that makes it a tear jerker.

 ‘Fix you’ Coldplay

The first part of the song captures the essence of showing courage under fire. It is about strength while being the vulnerability. The second part is pure defiance with its magical drumbeat.

Amy Winehouse ‘back to black’

Just the thought that the lady really believed in what she said (she committed suicide), makes this song a genuine conversation with the dark side.
