In pictures: Destruction caused by Indian Army across the Line of Control

Indian Army has been violating the truce on the Line of Control (LoC) and deliberately targeting the residential areas, markets, schools and private vehicles to terrorise the people living in Batal sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Indian Army avoids directly attacking the Pakistan Army posts, however, they have been targeting the civilians since the last two years.

Every house, shop, school and cowshed was targeted by the Indian forces to create fear among the residents.

The holes in the walls of the residential structures created by the unprovoked Indian firing tell the story of naked aggression on the LoC, where they target the innocent school children and women as well.

Two students were hit by the Indian bullets in the area. They were busy in the study at their homes when they were targeted by the Indian soldiers.

The same is the case with the women living in Batal sector who are also being targeted by the Indian forces in the open fields and springs while fetching the water. Both the injured students vowed to continue their studies.

Indian Army also targeted the Government Girls High School Batal when students were in the class rooms. The building was damaged, but there was no loss of life.

Residents of Batal village are not ready to leave the area saying they will live and die in their ancestral areas.

“In presence of Pakistan Army we have no fear, but it is unfortunate that world community is silent on the truce violation from the Indian Army on LoC to target the civilian areas,” said a Batal resident Ashiq while talking to this writer.

People in Batal appealed to the world human rights organisations to take the notice of truce violation on the LoC and put pressure over Indian military establishment to stop attacking the civilian areas.
