Brutality, savageness and inhumanity has reached a point which can’t be ignored or overlooked if social sanctity is to be restrained.
The kidnap, rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab is an example of such inhuman acts which need to be addressed and dealt with in the most appropriate and stringent manner.
Zainab was kidnapped five days back on the way to her Quran class and was found cold in heaps of dirt in her hometown Kasur. This vicious act happened when her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and were clueless as to what their daughter had gone through.
The entire country broke into tears the day her body was recovered. Sorrow and anger broke out wrath in the native city.
Though CM Punjab immediately took notice of the issue, but the rage was so flamboyant that it soon started taking toll of the law and order situation, which resulted in the mob’s attack on commissioner’s office.
It was reported that the crowd stoned the police officials after which the police retaliated and shot bullets which resulted in two casualties and a few injuries.
This situation was taken as a lob by the opposition parties, and while commencing their resentment and bestowing their commiserations towards the effected family, they responded to the event in dirty politics by bashing the provincial government.
Reacting to the situation in his natural fashion, the Chairman of Pakistani AwamiTehreek (PAT) Molana Tahir Ul Qadri started accusing the provincial authorities outrageously and compared the causalities with the Model Town killings.
Not only this, he also incorporated his Minhajul Quran Kasur wing to ignite the issue and give fuel to his own dead movement of the killings in Model Town and using a seven-year-old’s murder as a tool for his own political mileage.
Such issues, when raised by politicians, slide the main case in the background and their own personal interests and political gains come to the fore.
Zainab’smurder is the current case which should be the focus of every politician whether he or she is in the government or not and should support the cause. The focus should be on arresting the culprits and then leaving it on the courts for justice.
Punjab government has managed to identify the culprits and is determined to arrest them in a short time so that the family can receive justice as soon as possible, which is the government’s first priority.
